Splash in the Champagne Pools, float down fast-flowing Eli Creek, climb Indian Head to spot sharks and rays, and even take your photo at the rusting Maheno Shipwreck. This 2 day tour is an excellent addition to your itinerary on your next holiday to the Fraser Coast.
Itinerary
Day 1: First stop is beautiful Basin Lake where you can get up close and personal with the resident freshwater turtles! Located in the peaceful, ancient rainforest is Central Station where you can explore the area and see the reminders of a former, once bustling logging camp. Walk along the banks of Wanggoolba Creeke, with its with lush green rainforest and rare king ferns... just breathtaking.
Check out the towering satinay trees in this rich forest of Pile Valley, before heading to Lake McKenzie and its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Enjoy a refreshing afternoon swim before heading back to Kingfisher Bay.
Day 2: An early start to explore Seventy-Five Mile Beach, the world's most amazing beach highway. Float down the crystal clear waters of Eli Creek. This fast-flowing freshwater creek which pours out 80 megalitres of water daily. Washed ashore during a cyclone in 1935, the Maheno is now a rusting wreck and is one of Fraser's essential photo stops. With all the colours of the rainbow (well just the reds really) these vibrant sand cliffs of the Coloured Sands are another favourite photo stop. Climb to the top of Indian Head for awesome beach and ocean views... look out for sharks, rays and humpback whales (Jul - Nov). Chill out in these bubbling ocean rock pools, know as the Champagne Rock Pools - you won't want to leave!
The tour returns to Kingfisher Bay Resort in the late afternoon. Wind down and enjoy a relaxed dinner before departing on the at 8.00pm catamaran back to Hervey Bay, arriving at Urangan Boat Harbour approximately 8.45pm.

Departs: 9.00am daily from the Kingfisher Bay Mainland Terminal Urangan Boat Harbour. Hervey Bay hotel pick up available when prebooked, approx 1 hour earlier.

Please Note: You'll need to have a day-pack ready when you check in at the boat harbour, as your 4WD adventure begins as soon you get to Fraser Island. Your other luggage will be delivered to the Wilderness Lodge at Kingfisher Bay, storage area for you to collect in the afternoon
