Fraser Island Company - 2 Day Wilderness Safari
Your action packed Fraser Island tour begins with a courtesy pick up from your accommodation in Hervey Bay before heading over to the World Heritage Fraser Island via ferry.
Explore the interior of island by traveling through the dense Yidney Rainforest on your journey across the island to the Fraser Island Wilderness Retreat where you can indulge in a delicious buffet style lunch before continuing on to such sites as the beautiful Lake Birrabeen where you can have a swim, hike to Lake Wabby, discover the Maheno Shipwreck that was washed ashore in 1935, marvel at the stunning coloured sands and hike to the top of Indian Head where you can spot sharks in the churning waters below.
During the tour you will have plenty of opportunity to swim in the fresh water lakes and creeks as well as take tranquil walks in the lush rainforests.
Stroll along the board walk at Wanggoolba Creek where the palm trees and ferns line the banks of the fresh water creek, and here at Central Station is where you stop for an enjoyable picnic lunch.
While on your 4WD tour across the island your experienced guide will tell you of the rich history of the local area, such as the naming of Fraser Island, the aboriginal peoples that inhabited the island as well as the conservation issues that are relevant today more than ever.
