The World Heritage Fraser Island is situated just off the coast of Hervey Bay, located in south east Queensland. Let the Fraser Island Company take you on two days of exploration to this unspoilt wilderness.
Your Fraser Island tour begins with a courtesy pick-up from your accommodation in Hervey Bay before transferring to Fraser Island via ferry. Your experienced tour guide will take you on an informed journey through the various parts of the island.
Hike through stunning rainforests and sand dunes to the beautiful Rainbow Gorge and Lake Wabby, and don't forget to bring your bathers so you can take a dip in the various fresh waters lakes and creeks you visit.
Enjoy delicious meals including picnic lunches at Lake Allom, the home to the fresh water turtles and a sumptuous dinner at the Fraser Island Wilderness Retreat where you also spend the night.
Explore the historical Maheno Shipwreck and spot marine life from the top of Indian Head.
Itinerary
DAY 1
• Transfers from Hervey Bay accommodation.
• Travel from the Urangan Boat Harbour to Fraser Island, crossing the beautiful Great Sandy Straits by ferry.
• Explore the interior of Fraser Island as you travel to Yidney Rainforest.
• Drive to Happy Valley and dine on a tropical buffet lunch at Fraser Island Wilderness Retreat.
• Travel south along 75 Mile Beach to Lake Wabby. Enjoy an afternoon of swimming, walking and relaxing at this unique barrage freshwater lake.
• Barbeque dinner and overnight spacious twin/double share accommodation in our well appointed ensuited and shared ensuited timber lodges at the Wilderness Retreat at Happy Valley. (bed linen provided)
DAY 2
• Breakfast at the Wilderness Retreat at Happy Valley.
• Explore the beautiful and peaceful northern regions of Fraser Island.
• Visit Indian Head and admire the Island’s abundant wildlife and magnificent views.
• Picnic lunch at Lake Allom. Stroll around the lake and admire the resident turtles.
• Ample time to walk, photograph and swim.
• Return to Moon Point and board the ferry for your return to Hervey Bay.
NB: Tour routes may change depending on tide conditions.
